Description
Is used in the Tubing Conveyed Perforating System to perforate underbalanced by allowing the tubing to be run with a low fluid level.
This tool is used in conjunction with a Mechanical Firing Head and is actuated by the Detonating Bar as it passes through the valve.

Operation
The valve is run in the well in the closed position.
The valve should be located below the packer and a minimum of 26' above the firing head.
The tubing id filled while going in the hole to achieve the desired underbalance (always have a minimum of 60' of fluid above the valve to help reduce the flow velocity when the valve is opened).
After setting the packer, the valve is opened by dropping a 1 1/4" O.D. Detonating Bar.
