Description
The Hydraulic Firing Head is designed to initiate the detonation of perforating guns in a Tubing Conveyed Perforating (TCP) assembly at a predetermined setting through the application of pressure in the tubing string.

This Firing Head may be used in certain TCP applications that make the use of a percussion (drop bar activated) Firing Head undesirable or impractical.

These include horizontal or deviated wells where either conventional or roller equipped drop bars may not attain sufficient velocity to activate the firing pin mechanism; situations where extreme overbalance is desired during perforating; and a variety of completion assembly considerations where drop bar use might cause damage or production problems following gun detonation.
